Occupational Safety and Health Management Mechanism

Keystone Microtech has introduced the ISO 45001 occupational safety and health management system in 2024. Keystone Microtech established the Occupational Safety and Health Committee in accordance with the Regulations Governing Occupational Safety and Health headed by the Chairman. There are 9 members in the committee of whom the function heads of the Company are the ex-officio members and other 3 employee representatives are elected as members of this committee, which accounted for 33% of the total number of the seats. The committee convenes regularly in each quarter of the year to discuss matters pertinent to the planning and implementation of occupational safety and health and environmental protection. In addition, Keystone Microtech also established the position of a Class I Occupational Safety and Health Officer. One person is appointed as the officer charged with the routine review and advocacy of matters pertinent to occupational safety and health and environmental protection.

Responses to emergency

Keystone Microtech has mapped out the plan for the management of response to emergency thereby classified disasters into 4 categories of natural disasters, accidents and injury, violence and disturbance, and miscellaneous. Accordingly disasters are also ranked at 3 levels in terms of severity of the incidents with the establishment of the procedures and means for the prevention of and response to such situations. The Office of Occupational Safety holds Level 1 response to emergency exercise drill once semi-annually and Level 2 response to emergency and evacuation exercise drill once annually. In addition, the Company also holds exercise drill in fire safety once semi-annually covering training of particular subject, field practice or testing to reduce injury and casualty and property damage in the event of hazardous situations. In 2023, the Company organized 2 exercise drills in response to emergency with 35 participants.

Education and training in occupational safety and health

For the better understanding and recognition of occupational safety and health related matters among the employees, Keystone Microtech provides education and training for the employees on topics of occupational safety and health to prevent the outbreak of occupational hazards. In 2023, the Company held 33 trainings totaled 407 hours with 258 participants in the training.

Human Rights and Diversity

In order to fulfill its corporate social responsibilities, Keystone Microtech is committed to providing employees with a safe and friendly working environment and respecting and supporting internationally recognized human rights norms and principles, in accordance with the "United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights" and the International Labor Organization's "Declaration of Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work", and also abide by Taiwan’s Labor Standards Act, Act of Gender Equality in Employment, Occupational Safety and Health Act and other relevant labor laws and regulations to prevent any infringement and violation of human rights.

Keystone Microtech formulated the "Regulations Governing Human Right Policy and Administration " in 2023, committing to ensuring that the company's working environment is safe, employees are respected and treated with dignity, and operations promote environmental protection and comply with ethics. It is planned to promote human rights policies and management methods training for new employees starting in 2024.

For achieving equal opportunity and safety at workplace, Keystone Microtech strictly prohibits any form of discrimination. We implement the fairness of employment diversity, salary and promotion opportunities to ensure that employees are not discrimination against race, age, gender, sexual preference, physical handicapped, pregnancy, political inclination and religion. All employees shall enter into an employment agreement with the Company as required by law. It is also explicitly stated in the Service Regulations that employees are granted the freedom of association, and the use of child labor and forced-labor is strictly prohibited for the protection of the basic human right of the employees. In 2023, there was no record of forced-labor and no complaints related to human right.

The proportion of female employees at Keystone Microtech is 41.72%. However, due to the characteristics of the semiconductor industry, although the majority of employees are men, there is no employment discrimination or any unfair treatment based on gender. If there are special circumstances in Taiwan that require the termination of labor contracts with employees, severance notices and subsequent related severance pay payments will be made in accordance with the Labor Standards Act.

Retirement system and implementation

After the enactment of the Labor Pension Act on July 1, 2005, all employees of Keystone Microtech adopted the retirement system under this new law. Keystone Microtech makes monthly contributions to employees’ individual pension accounts at 6% of monthly salaries and wages. Employees are also free to allocate up to 6% of monthly salaries and wages to their respective pension account at will. In 2023, Keystone Microtech appropriated NT$10,754 thousand for pension fund.

Unpaid Parental Leave for Raising Children

Keystone Microtech complies with the Act of Gender Equality in Employment, and qualified colleagues can apply for leave without pay for child care based on their needs. In 2023, there are 12 employees applied parental leave, 5 employees were supposed to be reinstated, and 4 employees were actually reinstated. 1 employee resigned due to family reasons.
